My Weekly Social Table Tennis in Sydney

The Aussie Table Tennis Social Meetup Group is a fun, friendly, community-led space where people of all ages and skill levels come together to enjoy table tennis, stay active, and make new friends.

Founded by Tanya in 2021, the group originally began as the Parramatta Table Tennis Social Meetup Group. As we grew, we adopted our new name — Aussie Table Tennis Social — to better reflect our inclusive and community-focused spirit.

We meet every Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm for relaxed, social play. Our sessions are currently hosted at Apex Table Tennis Centre in Gladesville, where players can join in warm-up drills, friendly matches, and a supportive environment that welcomes everyone.

Today, we’re proud to be one of Sydney’s biggest and most highly rated table tennis social groups, with a 4.9-star rating from over 190 reviews—built on community, positivity, and the love of the game.

Do I need to be good at table tennis to join?

Not at all! We are a Social Group. Players of all skill levels are welcome — beginners, casual players, and even competitive ones. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the game.

If you have your own paddle, feel free to bring it. If not, you can borrow one from the organiser — but we only have a limited number of spare paddles. It’s best to check with us before the meetup to make sure one is available.

The cost of each session depends on the venue. At the moment, we charge $22 per person. This covers the venue rental, website expenses, and the Meetup.com subscription, which is a significant annual fee. The contribution is kept as low and nominal as possible to help us run the group smoothly and maintain the website.

We usually rotate players so everyone gets a chance to play multiple games. You can choose social rallies, friendly matches, or even small mini-tournaments if the group feels like it.

Yes! Most people attend solo. It’s one of the best ways to meet new people who share a love for table tennis and social fun.

Yes, the Apex Table Tennis Centre has ample parking, and street parking is also available.

Yes. The facility is clean and they have clean toilets.

Yes, please RSVP — this helps us organise tables, groups, and match-ups properly. Walk-ins make planning difficult, so an RSVP is very important. If the event is full, we may not be able to accommodate you and might have to ask you to leave.

No. We are a private, community-run social meetup group, not a business. Our organisers volunteer their time, and all meetups are run purely for social connection and playing table tennis.

Any interactions or activities that occur outside the meetup are solely the responsibility of the individuals involved. The organisers are not liable for the actions or behaviour of any members outside official meetup events.
